L.B.# 6

Using and evaluating instructional materials plays an important part in teaching but still no instructional material,no matter how superior, can take the place of an effective teacher.Any instructional material can be the best provided it helps the teacher accomplish her intended learning objective.Instructional materials may be perceived to be labor-saving devices for the teacher. On the contrary, the teacher even works harder when she makes good use of instructional materials. Therefore, there is no such thing as best instructional material. For an effective use of instructional materials,we must observe the guidelines which we have to consider, first is the selection of materials and second,is the proper use of the materials.

L.B.# 5

The cone of experience reminds us to make use of a combination of as many learning resources as we can and to proceed to the abstract only after we have presented the concrete. This is important in our teaching career someday if we want our students to remember and master what was taught.Learning is from the concrete to the abstract, from the abstract to the concrete and from the concrete to the abstract again. Therefore, learning is in the cycle of abstract and concrete.

The systematic approach to teaching views the entire educational program as a system of closely interrelated parts. It is an orchestrated learning pattern with all parts harmoniously integrated into the whole: the school, teacher, students, objectives, media, materials and assessment tools and procedures. It is all interrelated to each other.

The roles of educational technology in learning is very important. It serves as learning tools that learners learn with.It makes the learner gather, think, analyze, synthesize information and construct meaning with what technology presents. It provides opportunities for technology and learner interaction for meaningful learning.Whether used from the traditional or constructivist point of view, when used effectively, technology increases students learning, understanding and achievement but also augments motivation to learn, encourages collaborative learning and supports the development of critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
